UPDATE: Online PDA 2020 Annual Conference: May 14-15, 2020, 1-4 pm both days, via Zoom Webinar

Due to contstrains regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Annual Conference has been moved entirely online. It will take place via Zoom Webinar on May 14 and 15, from 1-4 pm both days. The PDA is in the process of applying for 6 hours of CLE credit for this training event. We have decided to make this training FREE to all PDA members and those interested in attending. 

Please note, you will need to regsiter for each day separately. The links to register are below:

DAY 1: THURSDAY, MAY 14, 2020, 1-4 pm


DAY 2: FRIDAY, MAY 15, 2020 1-4 pm


Due to the change in format, we will be offering a shortened training schedule:

THursday, May 14, 2020, 1-4 pm

  • 1-2 pm: A keynote address by Martin Guggenheim, co-author of Representing Parents in Child Welfare Cases, and national parental defense expert;
  • 2-3 pm: An update from Diane Moore, DCFS Director, will be giving an update on Familiy First, as well as COVID-19 DCFS Responses and other projects DCFS and the PDA have been involved with over the past year;
  • 3-4 pm: Grant Dickinson will be giving a presentation on Professionalism and Responsibility

Friday, May 15, 2020, 1-4 pm

  • 1-2 pm: Rob Wyman will be giving a keynote presentation on Building Hope & Resiliency Using the ABA Child Safety Guide;
  • 2-3 pm: Emily Adams will be giving the Caselaw Update
  • 3-4 pm: Panel Discussion on the Defense SIde Social Worker Program by Adam Trupp, IDC, Margaret Lindsay, Utah County Public Defenders Office, Sheryl St. Clair and Mandy Adams, UCPD Social Workers, Jordan Putnam of Lokken and Associates, and Melissa Foulger, Lokken Social Worker. 

The PDA is in the process of requesting  6 hours of CLE credit  from the Utah State Bar.



Please note that while there is no cost to attend this virtual training event, if you want to receive CLE credit, you will need to regsiter online for the webinar using the two links provided above.
