The Parental Defense Alliance
The Parental Defense Alliance of Utah is a non-profit organization created to provide continuing education and support opportunities for attorneys who represent parents in child welfare proceedings. From removal to reunification, at termination of parental rights, parental defense attorneys are committed, dedicated advocates, well-versed in the laws and practice of child welfare law in the juvenile courts. Recent Utah Cases
L.G. v. State, 2013 UTApp 184 (July 26, 2013). JuvenileCourt required to order reasonable services to incarceratedmother unless it make an actual determinationthat those services would be detrimental to thechildren. Reversed and remanded.
R.T. v. State, 2013 UT App 169 (July 11, 2013). Court of Appeals lacks jurisdiction to consider untimelyappeal from contempt order. Under U.C.A. 78A-6-1109(7), appeal of right from orders other than thoseentered in child welfare proceeding shall be takenwithin thirty days after entry of the order.
